Welcome to The Dance House’s very first recital – Chapter 1: Storybook Spectacular! We are so excited to celebrate our dancers and all the hard work and creativity they have poured into this season.
Each dance in our recital is inspired by a book, and we can’t wait to share them on stage with you. This will be a celebration of imagination, growth, and the joy of dance in our little Dance House family.
Thank you for supporting your dancer and helping make this first recital truly special. Let’s turn the pages together and watch our stories come to life!

Important Recital Dates
April 1- Costume fees due
Now-April 30- Memory Book Shout Out & Ads Due!
May- Tickets go on sale!
June 7- Come learn the show Opener @ 2-3pm (free to anyone who would like to perform in it)
June 14- Come learn the show Finale @ 2-3pm (free to anyone who would like to perform in it)
Jun 15–17 – Picture Week (no classes, specific days/times TBA)
Jun 22–23 – Spring Recital Rehearsal at The Dance House
Jun 29 – Dress Rehearsal approx. 12:30 PM AND Spring Recital Shows at 3 PM & 6 PM

Costumes
April 1 – Costume Fee Due
All costume fees must be paid by April 1. Costume fees are non-refundable, as costumes are ordered specifically for each dancer.
Costume Details
Detailed costume information for each class (including tights, shoes, and hair requirements) will be sent home soon.
Costume Distribution
Costumes will be revealed and sent home once all costumes for the class have arrived.
Labeling
Please label every piece of your dancer’s costume (including accessories and shoes) with their name.
Costume Care
Care instructions will be included with your costume.
Please do not wash or wear costumes before the recital, except for picture day or dress rehearsal.

Recital tickets are now on sale! To help keep ticket prices affordable for our families, tickets are being sold through a simple online order form with no additional processing fees HERE.

3:00 PM Show (Matinee)
- Front Section: $10
- Mid Section: $8
- Back Section: $5
6:00 PM Show (Evening)
- Front Section: $12
- Mid Section: $10
- Back Section: $8
Seating is general admission within each section.
🎟 Complimentary Tickets
Each recital dancer receives:
- 1 free ticket for the 3:00 PM show
- 1 free ticket for the 6:00 PM show
Free tickets:
- Must be selected within the order form
- May be used in any section based on availability
- Are limited to one free ticket per dancer, per show

- Tickets are first come, first serve
- Tickets are not secured until payment is received
- Front seating may sell out quickly
- Please submit payment promptly after completing your order form

Picture Day
June 15–17
Picture Week is an exciting part of recital season and helps us capture special memories from our very first recital, Chapter 1: Storybook Spectacular! During this week, dancers will take recital photos and have the opportunity to run their dances in costume with combined class sections.
📅 Important Notes
- Regular classes will not be held during Picture Week EXCEPT-
- Acro/Tumbling 5+ WILL still meet as scheduled
- We want every dancer included in their class group photo, so please let us know ASAP if you have any major scheduling conflicts
📸 Included Photos with your Recital Fee
Each dancer will receive:
- 1 digital individual headshot
- 1 digital group photo for each dance they are in
These digital photos are included in your recital fee and will be shared with families after Picture Week.
📸 Additional Photos
Full-body dancer photos will also be taken for families interested in purchasing additional images. These photos may also be used in our Recital Memory Book shout-out pages if you would like to include a special message for your dancer.
👗 Arrival
Dancers should arrive:
- Fully dressed in costume (check your dance costume detail sheet that will be e-mailed)
- Hair can be done to your own choice for photos
- Makeup
- Arrive as close to exact time of photos only a few minutes before their scheduled time

Dress Rehearsal Details
June 29
Our dress rehearsal will take place on the same day as the recital and is an important part of preparing dancers for the stage.
Recital Show Times

Rehearsal Time
The dress rehearsal schedule will be released closer to the recital date. Rehearsal will take place earlier that day before the performances so dancers can practice spacing, costume changes, stage entrances, and exits.
Attendance
Dress rehearsal is required for all dancers, as it helps them feel comfortable on stage and ensures the performances run smoothly.
What Dancers Should Wear
Their recital costume and accessories and shoes
Hair and makeup prepared as instructed
What to Bring
Dance bag
Water bottle
Any additional costume pieces or accessories
A quiet activity if needed while waiting we are also hoping that a tv will be on with the performance playing so dancers can watch as well
Important Notes
This rehearsal allows dancers to practice on the actual stage.
Lighting, music, and spacing will be tested during this time.
Families will receive a detailed rehearsal schedule closer to the recital.
We want to create a calm and organized backstage environment so dancers can focus on enjoying their time on stage.

Recital Day Details
Recital Show Times: 3PM & 6PM
Arrival Time
Dancers will be asked to arrive before the recital begins to allow time for check-in and preparation. Exact arrival times will be shared once the performance schedule is finalized. (there will likely be time to leave between dress rehearsal and check-in time)
Check-In
Dancers will check in at a designated dancer check-in area upon arrival. Studio volunteers will help guide dancers to their assigned dressing room area.
Dressing Rooms
Dancers will remain in their assigned dressing room area backstage with their class when they are not performing. This helps ensure dancers are ready and organized for their time on stage.
Parent Access
To keep backstage areas calm and organized for the dancers, only dancers and approved studio volunteers will be allowed in dressing room areas.
Dancer Release
More information about when and how dancers will be released to parents after the show will be shared closer to the recital date.
What Dancers Should Bring
All costumes & accessories
Required dance shoes
A labeled dance bag
Water bottle and dry food snacks
A quiet activity (book, coloring, etc.) while waiting between dances. We will also have some games and activities available as well.
Please make sure all items are clearly labeled with your dancer’s name.

Recital FAQs
What is the Recital Memory Book?
The Recital Memory Book is our special souvenir program for Chapter 1: Storybook Spectacular.
It includes:
Class group photos & Headshots all in a sweet memory filled way
Optional shout-out pages where families can include a short message or dedication for their dancer are available for additional purchase
A beautiful keepsake to remember our very first recital (we will offer this every year...its sort of similar to a yearbook)
Families can choose to purchase additional photo packages and if they would like more images in the Memory Book on a shout-out page.
The Memory Book is a wonderful way to celebrate your dancer and preserve memories!
Do dancers need a ticket?
No. Dancers performing in the recital do not need a ticket.
Do parents need a ticket?
Yes. All audience members will need a ticket to attend the recital. Ticket information will be shared once sales open.
Is dress rehearsal required?
Yes, dress rehearsal is required for all dancers, as it allows them to practice on the stage and helps ensure the show runs smoothly.
What if my dancer cannot attend picture day?
Dancers can still perform in the recital if they are unable to attend picture day. However, group photos and head shots will only be taken during the scheduled picture days and will be included in the Memory Books
When will costumes go home?
Costumes will be sent home once all costumes for the class have arrived.
Can my dancer wear their costume before the recital?
Please do not wear or wash costumes before the recital, except for picture day and dress rehearsal.
Can parents go backstage?
To help keep the backstage environment calm and organized for dancers, only dancers and approved studio volunteers will be allowed backstage.
Do dancers have to stay for the whole show?
Yes, both of our shows are the same show and set to be 1 hour-1 hour 15 min max.
Can I take photos or videos during the show?
Photography and video policies will be shared closer to the recital date.
